Ascorbic acid (AsA) is an important antioxidant for human health. The concept of “oil-vegetable-duel-purpose” can significantly enhance the economic benefits rapeseed industry. Rapeseed, when utilized as a vegetable, serves valuable food source AsA. In this study, we integrated transcriptome and metabolome analyses, along with substrate feeding, to identify L-galactose pathway primary AsA production, which primarily regulated by light. Through seven different photoperiod treatments from 12 h/12 h (light/dark) 24 h/0 h, found that content increased longer photoperiods, well chlorophyll, carotenoids, soluble sugars. However, excessively long led photooxidative stress, negatively affected biomass accumulation in seedlings subsequently impacted total Furthermore, enzymes respond differently photoperiods. Analysis correlation between expression levels biosynthesis-related genes highlighted dynamic balancing mechanism metabolism response study revealed 16 h/8 optimal long-term seedlings. extending before harvest without compromising yield. These findings offer novel insights into effective strategy biofortification rapeseed.

Abstract The genome of the cornflower (Centaurea cyanus ) was sequenced with long reads (ONT) to reveal full sequences genes in flavonoid biosynthesis. Of particular interest are responsible for striking blue pigmentation flower. Through basecalling, read correction and assembling DNA strands, we were able generate a sequence 98.8% BUSCO completeness, N50 16 Mbp, an accuracy 72 reported by Merqury. HERRO-based R10 nanopore sequencing resulted substantially improved assembly compared uncorrected reads. gene prediction revealed structural biosynthesis associated MYB bHLH transcription factors. A tandem duplication F3’H discovered. Additionally, putative resulting three copies anthocyanin activating observed.

In previous studies, titanium peroxide nanoparticles (PAA-TiOx NPs) with surfaces functionalized using polyacrylic acid (PAA) and hydrogen (H2O2) demonstrated a synergistic effect when combined X-ray irradiation. The combination generated H2O2 reactive oxygen species (ROS) that enhanced the irradiation efficacy. present study, we examined relationship between catalase PAA-TiOx NPs sensitization to radiation because is primary antioxidant enzyme converts water oxygen. Catalase-knockout PANC-1 (dCAT) cells were CRISPR/Cas9 system, which was confirmed by suppression of expression in mRNA protein levels resulted an 81.7% decrease activity compared wild-type cells. Catalase deficiency found increase production ROS, particularly hypoxia. Also, 5 Gy 7-fold survival fraction (SF; p < 0.01) dCAT rates documented Interestingly, treatment 3 SF similar observed treated same but at higher dose (5 Gy). These results suggest strategy inhibition could be used establish advanced for pancreatic cancer

Low temperature, weak light, and the combination of low temperature light can have an impact on growth, development, quality eggplants. The color eggplant peel is affected by anthocyanin content. To better understand influence regulation anthocyanins in peel, four treatments were carried out eggplants, respectively: (18/13 °C, 250 μmol/(m2·s)), intensity (WL, 25/20 120 combined with (LW, 18/13 control (CK, μmol/(m2·s)). effects content various parts analyzed, transcriptome analysis was performed under using RNA sequencing. eggplants increased treatments, while it decreased light. KEGG showed that three pathways, namely phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, flavonoid involved biosynthesis Pearson correlation coefficients indicated low-temperature weak-light significantly correlated SmPAL, Sm4CL, SmCYP73A100, SmCHS, SmCHI, F3H, DFR, ANS, 3GT, also MYB, bHLH, AP2/ERF. Flavonoids are secondary metabolites that beneficial to life activities and mainly concentrated in buds leaves the form of glycosides. Flavonoid glycosides have important effects on properties quality tea plants. Research has shown abundance flavonoid varies greatly among different cultivars, but research regulatory mechanisms cause their differential accumulation plant cultivars with leaf colors is lacking. In this study, an integrated analysis metabolomics transcriptomics was conducted determine networks regulating astringency color-related flavonoids diverse colors. A total five anthocyanidins, four catechins, nine flavonol were found partially contribute differences taste color Furthermore, 15 MYB genes 5 Dof identified as potential regulators controlling expression eight key structural genes, resulting specific compounds, including epicatechin (EC), catechin (C), cyanidin, cyanidin 3-O-glucoside, pelargonidin quercetin These findings provide insights into development utilization resources from plants

This scoping review aims comprehensively current evidence regarding role anthocyanidins OA management highlights potential research areas. Methods: A comprehensive literature search was performed using PubMed, Scopus, Web Science January 2025 look for primary studies published English, main objective investigating chondroprotective regardless study designs. Results: seven included showed that suppressed activation inflammatory signalling, upregulated sirtuin-6 (cyanidin only), autophagy (delphinidin only) chondrocytes challenged various stimuli (interleukin-1β, oxidative stress, or advanced glycation products). Anthocyanins also preserved cartilage integrity increased pain threshold animal models OA. No clinical trial this field, suggesting translation gap. Conclusions: In conclusion, agents, but more investigations required overcome gap translation.

Floret color is a crucial phenotypic trait in broccoli, serving as an indicator of maturity and determining its market value. However, the mechanisms underlying variation remain unclear. In this study, six broccoli varieties with different floret colors at harvest were chosen materials. The difference pigment content florets measured, combined analysis anthocyanin-targeted metabolome transcriptome was conducted. Our findings revealed that chlorophyll primarily influences green, yellow-green, light green coloration, while wax may contribute to gray-green coloration. blue-green dark coloration are regulated by both anthocyanins. Targeted metabolomics identified five anthocyanin compounds, peonidin-3-O-glucoside key metabolite for delphinidin-3-O-glucoside-5-O-galactoside peonidin-3,5-O-diglucoside Transcriptomic CHLG potential regulator yellow-green light-green appears be coregulated combination genes, including biosynthesis gene HEMF; genes (PAL, FLS, UGT); degradation (SGR, PPD, NYC). Furthermore, upstream involved metabolism (CHLI, CHLD, CHLM, DVR, CLH) 4CL, CHS, F3′H, FLS) play roles florets.
