Detection of ions is challenging due to their small size, rapid diffusion, and high mobility, especially for assaying in samples low volumes. Among the traditional analytical methods, potentiometric ion-selective electrodes (ISE) have become a popular choice detecting as they are cost-effective, user-friendly can be miniaturized, making them useful on-site analysis. In this context, radially aligned carbon nanotubes (RACNT) directly grown on glass fibers (GF) via chemical vapor deposition method investigated solid contact material fabrication microelectrodes (μISE) upon incorporating specific ionophores within polymeric encapsulation membrane. As an illustration, sensitive detection ammonium accomplished by fabricated μISE (plasticized PVC membrane containing nonactin ionophores), which yielded LOD linear response range between 7.5 × 10–6 1.0 10–5 10–1 M, respectively. The with RACNT-GF interface exhibited improvements enhanced selectivity compared conventional ISE using planar materials such graphite. We hypothesize that surface area mechanical durability maximize accommodation barrier yielding improved responses. Experimental results illustrate possesses potential utilized selective incorporation composites.
