Abstract Groundwater is an excellent alternative to freshwater for drinking, irrigation, and developing arid regions. Agricultural, commercial, industrial, residential, municipal activities may affect groundwater quantity quality. Therefore, we aimed use advanced methods/techniques monitor the piezometric levels collect samples test their physicochemical biological characteristics. Our results using software programs showed two main types of groundwater: most prevalent was Na–Cl type, which accounts 94% samples, whereas Mg–Cl type found in 6% only. In general, hydraulic gradient values, ranging from medium low, could be attributed slow movement groundwater. Salinity distribution maps varied between 238 1350 mg L −1 . Although lower salinity values were observed northwestern wells, higher recorded southern ones. The collected seventeen water exhibited brackish characteristics subjected microbial growth monitoring. Sample WD12 had lowest total bacterial count (TBC) 4.8 ± 0.9 colony forming unit (CFU ), while WD14 highest TBC (7.5 0.5 CFU ). None tested however, contained pathogenic microorganisms. conclusion, current simulation models drawdown Quaternary aquifer system predict a considerable over next 10, 20, 30 years with continuous development region.
