The self‐assembly of the π‐conjugated 1,4‐di(1H‐imidazol‐1‐yl)benzene (dib) and 4,4′‐di(1H‐imidazol‐1‐yl)‐1,1′‐biphenyl (dibp) ligands together with 4′‐(3,4‐ dicarboxylphenyloxy)‐4‐biphenylcarboxylic acid (H 3 L) reacts metal Zn (II) salts to construct two new coordination polymers (CPs), namely [Zn (dib)(HL)(H 2 O)] ( 1 ) (dibp)(HL)] ). Fluorescence measurements reveal that could display a highly sensitive fluorescence response toward Hg 2+ nitrofurazone (NFZ). investigations suggest are promising multi‐responsive sensing materials for detecting NFZ through quenching (turn‐off). limits detection ions 0.221 μM 0.124 μM, while 0.757 0.960 , respectively. Interestingly, these selective processes can even be completed by reusable CPs detected naked eyes. Hirshfeld surfaces fingerprint plots extensively used investigate intermolecular interactions, which play crucial role in creating diverse supramolecular designs compared.

A novel zinc‐based metal–organic framework (Zn‐MOF), designated as [Zn 3 (L)(bpyp) 2 (HCOO) ·2DMF·H O] ( 1 ), was synthesized using 2,5‐bis(pyrid‐4‐yl)pyridine (bpyp), 1,3,5‐benzenetricarboxylic acid (H L), and Zn(CH COO) ·2H O in a DMF solution. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis revealed that MOF crystallizes the monoclinic system with C2/c space group, featuring (3,5)‐connected binodal network. The structural integrity characteristics of were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR), thermal gravimetric (TGA), powder (PXRD), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analyses, showing type IV isotherms indicative microporous structures. photocatalytic efficiency evaluated for degradation various antibiotics under UV light, nitrofurantoin (NFT) demonstrating highest rate 83.9% at an optimal concentration 40 ppm catalyst loading 5 mg. process followed pseudo‐first‐order kinetic model constant 0.02492 min −1 . Radical trapping experiments identified superoxide radicals (O ˙ − ) holes (h + predominant reactive species, while hydroxyl (˙OH) played negligible role. Reusability tests over four cycles stability durability , consistent performance unchanged morphology evidenced PXRD SEM analyses. proposed mechanism involves photoinduced electron–hole pair generation, subsequent formation oxygen species (ROS) facilitating NFT degradation. This study highlights promising photocatalyst environmental remediation, specifically efficient pharmaceutical contaminants aquatic systems, providing insights into its properties, activity, underlying mechanisms.

This review highlights the most recent applications of Cd(II)-carboxylate-based coordination polymers (Cd(II)-CBCPs), such as sensors, catalysts, and storage materials, in comparison with those Zn(II) counterparts. A wide range species luminescence properties were designed by using proper organic fluorophores, especially a carboxylate bridging ligand combined an ancillary N-donor species, both rigid structure. These characteristics, arrangement Cd(II)-CBCPs' structure intermolecular interaction, enable sensing behavior plethora various inorganic pollutants. In addition, Lewis acid Cd(II) was investigated either developing valuable heterogeneous catalysts acetalization, cyanosilylation, Henry or Strecker reactions, Knoevenagel condensation, dyes drug elimination from wastewater through photocatalysis. Furthermore, pores derivatives induced ability some to store gases toxic dyes. Applications herbicides, antibacterials, electronic devices are also described together their generate nano-CdO species.
