In recent years, the design and synthesis of high-performing conjugated materials for application in organic photovoltaics (OPVs) have achieved lab-scale devices with high power conversion efficiency. However, most are still synthesised using complex multistep procedures, resulting cost. For upscaling OPVs, it is also important to focus on polymers that can be made via fewer simple synthetic steps. Therefore, an easily amorphous thiophene−quinoxaline donor polymer, TQ1, has attracted our attention. An analogue, TQ-EH same polymer backbone as TQ1 but short branched side-chains, was previously reported a increased crystallinity. We copolymers varied ratios between octyloxy (2-ethylhexyl)oxy-substituted quinoxaline units having backbone, aim control aggregation/crystallisation behaviour copolymers. The optical properties, glass transition temperatures degree crystallinity new were systematically examined relation their copolymer composition, revealing composition used fine-tune these properties polymers. addition, multiple sub-Tg transitions found from some polymers, which not commonly or clearly seen other tested photovoltaic fullerene derivative acceptor, achieving slightly higher performances compared homopolymers. This work demonstrates side-chain modification by copolymerisation without requiring synthesis, thereby expanding number future OPVs.

Four silane-containing Schiff base oligomers (o-SBNs and o-SBBs) were synthesized by high-temperature polycondensation reactions using silicon-based dialdehydes with naphthalene 1,1'-binaphthalene diamine derivates. The samples showed a moderate solubility in common organic solvents, where the incorporation of TPS cores into o-SBN2 allows formation highly soluble material non-polar solvents higher molecular weights (11.58 kDa) polydispersity. All oligo-SBs displayed high thermal resistance (above 450 °C), showing enhanced stability for TPS-containing oligomers, degradation temperature exceeding 530 °C (o-SBB2) Tg values due to aromatic content granted moieties. Optical results broad absorption emission behavior visible spectrum, ranging from deep blue (o-SBN1 o-SBB1) (o-SBN2 o-SBB2). structure promotes clear bathochromic shift TPS-based attributed an extended π-conjugation across backbone. In addition, π-π overlap effect highlights larger Stokes shifts DMS core o-SN2 (133 nm) o-SBB1 (195 nm). found be wide-bandgap materials, Egopt range 2.60 eV 3.67 eV. weight o-SBN2, which provided π-conjugation, lowest value (2.60 eV) achieved. DFT, TDDFT EDDM calculations performed on trimeric oligo-SBs, revealing that HOMOs are localized amine-terminal fraction, while LUMOs over terminal aldehyde groups. These findings highlight used providing valuable insights fine-tuning physicochemical properties through use suitable building blocks their potential as optoelectronic materials.

Facile and ecofriendly syntheses are of vital importance to the development organic semiconductors. Herein, we present a straightforward green approach for preparing high-performance conjugated polymers. A series polymers based on three commercially available multifused rings benzodifuranedione were designed synthesized application in field-effect transistors (OFETs). The optical properties, molecular orbital energy levels, microstructures systematically investigated. Polymer-based devices also fabricated electrical properties optimized by extending conjugation length, varying ring structures, enhancing weight. polymer featuring heptacyclic arenes (dithienothiophen[3,2-b]-pyrrolobenzothiadiazole) achieved maximum mobility exceeding 1.4 cm2 V-1 s-1 an Ion/Ioff ratio surpassing 106. This work presents aldol synthesis strategy preparation semiconductor materials.

Abstract The development of novel ladder‐type conjugated molecules is crucial for advancing supramolecular chemistry and material science. In this study, we report a straightforward synthesis new alternating donor‐acceptor (D‐A) heteroarene, FCDTDPP , demonstrate its application as photothermal agent imaging cancer therapy. constructed by vinylene bridge between cyclopentadithiophene (D) diketopyrrolopyrrole (A) through intramolecular Friedel–Crafts type reaction. exhibits unique combination good molecular planarity, efficient intra‐/intermolecular mixed D‐A interactions, local aromaticity. These features collectively contribute to broad intense absorptions with narrow band gap in red the spectra, coupled multiple vibrational absorption feature, thereby enhancing non‐radiative decay process resulting conversion property. nanoparticles (NPs) exhibit superior performance stability under 660 nm laser irradiation. Moreover, vitro studies reveal that NPs possess excellent biocompatibility, low cytotoxicity, robust therapeutic efficacy, finding further corroborated preliminary vivo experiments tumor‐bearing mice. This work charts course engineering organic systems, propelling relevant research forward.
