The use of biochar (BC) as a substrate and dopant in developing composite biochar-based photocatalysts (BBP) has proven to be highly promising advancing wastewater treatment technology. This review focuses on the development BBP using agricultural poultry waste-derived BC mitigate organic pollutants water, with emphasis synthesis technique employed for preparation various BBP. Various techniques preparing BBP, along its features physico-chemical properties, are discussed detail. then delves into role influencing inherent properties particularly reducing band gap, acting an electron sink or reservoir, increasing surface active regions, improving charge separation. The excessive use of organic pollutants like dyes, which enter the water environment, has led to a significant environmental problem.
