Abstract Anaerobic digestion constitutes a sustainable method for waste management and renewable energy generation, addressing significant environmental societal challenges. The growing global crisis the increasing momentum toward solutions emphasize critical need to enhance anaerobic technology improved efficiency advantages. This process mitigates accumulation, enhances security, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, providing feasible solution within framework of circular bioeconomy. Here, we review principles biogas production, focusing on agricultural utilization framework. We specifically explore applications in rural industrial settings, assess impacts, discuss regulatory landscape with insights from China Europe. study reveals that strategic implementation can markedly improve yield sustainability, demonstrating how focused policies advanced technological practices optimize utilization. comprehension emphasizing Europe as key examples.
