Oily wastewater discharge in daily life and industry poses a major threat to the environment human health. Recently, superhydrophobic materials for treatment of oily have attracted much attention. Herein, bioinspired from blueberry mussel, coating (RA-S@TiO2 coating) based on sulfhydryl-modified rosin acid (RA-S) titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2) was successfully prepared. To increase micro/nano roughened structure material surface, TiO2 with better self-cleaning properties were used as one components. The prepared RA-S@TiO2 exhibited excellent superhydrophobicity (water contact angle greater than 153°) superoleophilicity. What is more, separation efficiency flux various oil–water mixtures 95% 6759 L·m–2·h–1, respectively. It clearly found that remained above 6451 L·m–2·h–1 even after 10 separations. Moreover, desirable durability stability well emulsion performance treatments. Droplets demonstrated anti-icing freeze delays up 1200 s at −18 °C. Furthermore, cycle assessment revealed environmental impact significantly lower other two commercially available materials. In conclusion, due advantages coating, it provided sustainable solution preparation material, which had promising future fields anti-icing.

The development of affordable ceramic membranes is essential for reducing expenses and optimizing the treatment oily wastewater. There an urgent demand that are not only easy to operate but also stable capable managing high fluxes address increasing volumes significant production demands associated with many commercially available membranes, primarily due use specialised raw materials intricate processing methods, limiting their suitability wastewater applications. Consequently, there a rising interest in creating innovative using simpler techniques. This study reviewed oil-water utilizing natural aimed at improving membrane performance. It focused on reviewing environmentally friendly economically viable derived from resources as alternative conventional synthetic membranes. These possess crucial properties like hydrophilicity oleophobicity, which vital effective separation. were filtration performance advantages. was reported these material-based demonstrate superior separation efficiency, strong mechanical stability, making them promising candidates sustainable water treatment.
