The
climate
crisis,
unrestrained
use
of
water
resources,
and
rising
population
demands
have
amplified
the
urgency
for
sustainable
eco-friendly
wastewater
treatment
solutions.
Conventional
methods
often
fail
to
degrade
emerging
persistent
pollutants
produced
by
industries,
driving
need
alternative
technologies.
In
this
context,
photocatalysis
has
emerged
as
a
promising
effective
method,
offering
superior
degradation
contaminants
cost-effective
application,
especially
with
its
advancements
in
recent
years.
As
an
advanced
oxidation
process
(AOP),
is
particularly
well-suited
address
limitations
traditional
treatments.
This
review
paper
explores
types
photocatalysts
their
operational
mechanisms,
examines
key
parameters
affecting
efficiency,
such
operating
conditions
photoreactor
design,
analyzes
developments
effluents
containing
over
past
five
