Polyvinyl chloride microplastics (PVC-MPs) and Cadmium (Cd) are widely occurring water pollutants that interact with each other to exert toxic effects. As a waterfowl, Muscovy duck is more susceptible PVC-MPs Cd than land poultry. In this study, was used as research model, 10 mg/L 50 mg/kg were alone in combine explore the effect on kidney of duck. We found treatment or changed weight, increased creatinine urea nitrogen content, disrupted oxidative balance macro/trace element metabolism, while combination PVC-MPs+Cd reduced accumulation kidney. addition, caused mitochondrial damage, increase decrease mitochondria-associated proteins (Fis1, Drp1, PGC-1α, Nrf1), Nrf2 signaling pathway plays key role detoxification alleviation stress, we recovered related (Nrf2, Keap-1, HO-1, NQO1, AC-SOD

The global crisis of plastic pollution, particularly involving microplastics (MPs) and nanoplastics (NPs), has profound ecological implications. Birds, serving as bioindicators, are especially susceptible to these pollutants. This systematic review synthesizes the current research on presence, distribution, impact MPs NPs avian species, alongside advancements in detection methodologies. have been identified over 200 bird species across 46 families, encompassing several ecosystems, from Antarctica Labrador, including Australia, China, South Europe. Seabirds such penguins, gulls, shearwaters exhibit a high burden tissues feces due fishing debris, while terrestrial face contamination urban agricultural sources. Depending their composition, can cause gastrointestinal damage, oxidative stress, bioaccumulation toxic chemicals, polyethylene polypropylene. However, challenges persist methodological inconsistencies, though advances spectroscopy flow cytometry offer improved accuracy. Addressing this pollution is vital for conservation ecosystem health, requiring international collaboration standardized protocols.

Abstract Microplastics (MPs), as an environmental contaminant, pose a significant risk to both animal and human health through the food water supply chains. Honey, widely recognised safe health‐oriented product, may become compromised if its production process involves non‐biodegradable MPs. This study was conducted systematic review, using comprehensive searches of PubMed, Scopus ScienceDirect investigate effects MP on honey bee health, potential route main species composition contamination in honey. review highlights impacts MPs including mortality, sucrose response, habituation, olfactory learning, memory recall, colony performance, body size growth, gut microbiota viral infection. From mechanistic perspective, can disrupt equilibrium microbiota, adversely impact function immune system, undermine neural signalling pathways that are critical for learning processes bees. There is a significant, rather than just anecdotal, connection between the liver and eyes. This evident in noticeable cases such as jaundice, where sclera has yellow tint. But this can be seen through even more subtle indicators, molecules known hepatokines. relationship not merely anecdotal; some studies, it referred to “liver–eye axis”. Ubiquitous environmental contaminants, microplastics (MPs), enter bloodstream human body conjunctival sac, nasolacrimal duct, upper respiratory tract mucosa. Once absorbed, these substances accumulate various organs cause harm. Toxic from surface of eye lead local oxidative damage by inducing apoptosis corneal cells, irregularly shaped microparticles exacerbate effect. Even other toxicants ocular may absorbed into distributed throughout body. Environmental toxicology presents challenge because many pollutants same route that used certain medications. Previous research indicated accumulation MPs play major role development chronic disease humans. It crucial investigate whether buildup potential fibrosis, or simply consequence conditions cirrhosis portal hypertension.

Microplastics and nanoplastics, degraded plastic polymers, are increasing in the environment, raising concerns about their potential health impacts, particularly on cardiovascular system. This systematic review aimed to investigate prospective effects of MPs NPs toxicity. study was written following PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The risk bias included studies assessed using SYRCLE tool. Our 38 vivo dating back from 2017 2024 several databases, including PubMed, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Taylor & Francis, ProQuest, Wiley Online Library, with inclusion criteria (PECOS) (1) Population: Animal; (2) Exposure: All types exposure micro nanoplastics; (3) Comparison: Placebo/ Control; (4) Outcome: Cardiotoxicity, inhibition development tissue, oxidative stress, inflammation, abnormal structure; (5) Study design: In experimental study. Studies reveal that cause toxicity through deposition, morphological changes, biomarker alterations, metabolism genetic regulation related injury, stress. is limited comparison different particle sizes, dose exposure, duration toward cardiotoxicity, does not compare between types.
