Heat stress (HS) is a critical factor affecting the health and performance of poultry. This study investigated effects varying durations HS on antioxidant capacity intestinal damage in Jinding ducks. The ducks were exposed to an environment at 40°C for 1 h, 3 6 12 h simulate conditions. impact was assessed by measuring expression small heat shock proteins, inflammatory factors, digestive enzyme activity, permeability, pathomorphological changes jejunum. results showed that with prolonged HS, proteins initially increased then decreased, while inflammation progressively intensified. Notably, after there significant increase impaired barrier function, decreased pronounced disturbances jejunal morphology, substantial reduction immune cell numbers. These findings suggest subjected can serve as model acute HS. not only elucidated alterations immunity associated extended but also provided scientifically robust experimental future research anti-HS agents. deeper understanding mechanisms through which affects poultry offered scientific basis developing new strategies mitigate impacts.
