To investigate the effect of Emotional Freedom Techniques on anxiety, depression and sleep in older people living with HIV (PLWH). 70 PLWH experiencing depression, disorders were randomly divided into control experimental groups using a random number table system (RNT), 35 participants each group. The group received once day for 15–20 min as part their routine care health counselling, intervention lasted 2 weeks. standard nursing guidance. two assessed Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS) to measure changes quality before after intervention. There are totally 67 trial. Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) may leave long-lasting neurobiological scars, increasing the risk of developing mental disorders in later life. However, no review has comprehensively integrated existing evidence across fields: hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, immune/inflammatory system, neuroimaging, and genetics/epigenetics. We thus systematically reviewed previous meta-analyses towards an integrative account ACE-related alterations. Following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guideline, a total 27 until October 2021 were identified. This found that individuals with ACEs possess blunted cortisol response to psychosocial stressors, low-grade inflammation evinced by increased C-reactive protein levels, exaggerated amygdalar emotionally negative information, diminished hippocampal gray matter volume. Importantly, these alterations consistently observed those without psychiatric diagnosis. These findings discussed schematic model Future longitudinal research based on multidisciplinary approach is imperative disorders' prevention treatment.

To assess the association between sleep patterns and factors (sleep duration, trouble sleeping, disorder) risk of depression in older adults. A total 5636 participants (2754 men 2882 women) aged 60 years from 2007–2014 waves National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) were included. Sleep problems, disorders assessed home by trained interviewers using Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) system. The combined behaviours referred to as 'sleep (healthy, intermediate poor)', with a 'healthy pattern' defined sleeping 7–9 h per night no self-reported or disorders. With rapid aging of the population worldwide, number people with dementia is dramatically increasing. Some studies have emphasized that metabolic syndrome, which includes obesity and diabetes, leads to increased risks cognitive decline. Factors such as insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, high blood pressure, dyslipidemia, central in syndrome are associated synaptic failure, neuroinflammation, imbalanced neurotransmitter levels, leading progression dementia. Due positive correlation between diabetes dementia, some called it "type 3 diabetes". Recently, patients decline due imbalances has considerably increased. In addition, recent reported neuropsychiatric issues anxiety, depressive behavior, impaired attention common factors disease those nervous system (CNS), amygdala a region regulates emotional memory, mood disorders, attention, function. The connectivity other brain regions, hippocampus, activity contribute diverse neuropathological issues. Thus, this review summarizes significant consequences critical roles both syndromes Further on function imbalance-related needed treat problems type

The immune system has major roles in the brain and related psychopathology. Disrupted interleukin-6 secretion aberrant amygdala emotional reactivity are well-documented stress-related mental disorders. regulates psychosocial affected by genes. These led us to comprehensively examine relationship between interleukin-6, activity, symptoms under gene-stressor interactions. One hundred eight nonclinical participants with various levels of anxiety/depression underwent magnetic resonance imaging scans during an face task for activity saliva collection (at 10-time points across 2 days) total output diurnal patterns interleukin-6. According to the traditional memory-systems view, hippocampus is critical during explicit (conscious) long-term memory, whereas other brain regions support implicit (nonconscious) memory. In last two decades, some fMRI studies have reported hippocampal activity memory tasks. The aim of present discussion paper was identify whether any provided convincing evidence that associated with nonconscious processes without being confounded by conscious processes. Experimental protocol and analysis parameters included stimulus type(s), task(s), measures subjective awareness, accuracy, relevant contrast(s) or analysis, confound(s). A systematic review conducted in hippocampus. After applying exclusion criteria, 13 articles remained for analysis. We found there were no where awareness absent, performance at chance, confounds could driven observed activity. Abstract Negative self-referent memory bias (the preferential for negative information) is a well-known symptom of depression and risk factor its development, maintenance, recurrence. Evidence shows potential as an add-on tool in clinical practice. However, it unclear which measure(s) could be clinically relevant. Here, first step, we investigate measures best differentiate current status track depressive severity most closely. The total sample ( N = 956) from three (naturalistic) psychiatric cohorts with matched controls was divided into depression, remitted non-disordered control group. Self-referent task were calculated the drift diffusion model (DDM) applied to assess underlying components cognitive decision making process. Measures compared between groups linear regression models their association severity. number endorsed words differentiated while combination positive words, bias, rate strongly associated Our results give direction implementation this task. Its value assessing, monitoring, predicting state trait settings requires further investigation.

Abstract Emotional memory bias is a common characteristic of internalizing symptomatology and enhanced during sleep. The current study employs bifactor S-1 modeling to disentangle depression-specific anhedonia, anxiety-specific anxious arousal, the factor, general distress, test whether these symptoms interact with sleep influence for emotional neutral information. Healthy adults ( N = 281) encoded scenes featuring either negative objects (e.g., vicious looking snake) or chipmunk) placed on backgrounds an outdoor scene). After 12-hour period daytime wakefulness n 140) nocturnal 141), participants judged were same, similar, new compared what they viewed encoding. Participants also completed mini version Mood Anxiety Symptom Questionnaire. Higher arousal predicted worse across all stimuli features, but only after day spent being awake—not following night No significant effects found distress anhedonia in wake condition. In this study, not associated memory. Instead, performance specifically individuals higher was impaired overall, regardless valence, case when retention interval spanned (i.e., it sleep). This suggests that may confer protective effect impairments anxiety.
