Background: Wildfires are a global concern due to their wide-ranging environmental, economic, and public health impacts. Climate change contributes an increase in the frequency intensity of wildfires making smoke exposure more significant recurring for individuals with airway diseases. Some most prominent effects wildfire asthma exacerbations allergic sensitization. Likely delayed recognition its impacts comparison cigarette industrial or traffic-related air pollution, research on composition, mechanisms toxicity, cellular/molecular pathways involved is poor non-existent. Summary: This review discusses potential underlying pathological wildfire-smoke-related disease asthma. Workplace exposures are widely known to cause specific occupational diseases such as silicosis and asbestosis, but they also can contribute substantially causation of common respiratory diseases. In 2019, the American Thoracic Society (ATS) European Respiratory (ERS) published a joint statement on burden Our aim this narrative review is summarise most recent evidence after ATS/ERS well provide information traditional lung that be useful for clinicians researchers. Newer publications confirm findings role workplace exposure in contributing aetiology considered (asthma, COPD, chronic bronchitis, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, infectious pneumonia). Except bronchitis pneumonia, number last 5 years other limited. For there old novel sources their continues relevant, especially developing countries. Occupational remains an important risk factor airways interstitial diseases, causing This critical public health professionals formulating effective preventive strategies patient care. Effective action requires shared knowledge among clinicians, researchers, professionals, policy makers.

Air pollution is a major global environment and health concern. Recent studies have suggested an association between air COVID-19 mortality morbidity. In this context, close increased levels of pollutants such as particulate matter ≤2.5 to 10 µM, ozone nitrogen dioxide SARS-CoV-2 infection, hospital admissions due COVID 19 has been reported. can make individuals more susceptible infection by inducing the expression proteins angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE)2 transmembrane protease, serine 2 (TMPRSS2) that are required for viral entry into host cell, while causing impairment in defence system damaging epithelial barrier, muco-ciliary clearance, inhibiting antiviral response immune dysregulation. The aim review report epidemiological evidence on impact up-to-date manner, well provide insights vivo vitro mechanisms.

This study aimed to evaluate the long-term trends in lung cancer (LC) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) mortality attributable particulate matter (PM2.5) China identify contributions of population aging other risk factors changes rates. Using data from 1991 2021, we assessed LC COPD deaths PM2.5 through linear regression. Decomposition analysis was conducted determine extent which rates were driven by demographic non-demographic factors. The crude increased significantly for (500.40%) (85.26%). From 1990 annually 4.11% (95% CI: 3.64%, 4.59%), while decreased 1.23% -0.82%, -1.65%). revealed that 43.0% increase due aging, 57.0% attributed For COPD, contributed an 18.547/100,000 increase, whereas reduced 10.628/100,000. findings highlight critical roles factor modification trends. Interventions address aging-related vulnerabilities air pollution control are essential mitigate future health burdens.

Schools are vital infrastructures where students acquire essential skills and foster social values. Indoor air quality (IAQ) is of paramount importance in schools, given that spend a considerable amount time indoors. This study examines the influence natural green structure (NGS) on IAQ an Eco-Campus classroom. The classroom with NGS was compared to adjacent without NGS. thermal conditions were monitored, including temperature (T) relative humidity (RH), as well indoor pollutants, carbon dioxide (CO2), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), particulate matter (PM2.5 PM10). findings indicated substantial improvement installed. lends support incorporation biophilic solutions sustainable approaches fostering healthier learning environments, which turn can lead improvements student performance well-being.

Indoor air pollution presents a critical public health challenge, particularly in countries such as India, where millions are exposed to harmful pollutants within their homes and workplaces. This scoping review delves into the multifaceted impacts of indoor on outcomes, synthesizing evidence from various study designs geographical regions A was conducted. Drawing comprehensive search strategy, which yielded 320 records, wherein 120 PubMed, 108 Web Science, 92 SCOPUS. Ten studies were selected based predefined inclusion criteria, totaling sample size 37,43166 individuals . The synthesis findings reveals impact status. Respiratory symptoms illnesses found be prevalent among pollutants, with biomass fuel combustion posing high risk for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) women. In addition, associated adverse pregnancy cardiovascular diseases, central nervous system impacts, cognitive impairment, developmental delays. Urgent action is needed reduce pollution, safeguard health, promote cleaner technologies healthier environments. Vulnerable populations, women, children, elderly, disproportionately affected by highlighting importance targeted interventions policies.
