The Indo-Gangetic plain of northern India is known for prevalent rice farming. Due to the lack a straw waste management system, large volume burned in field. Therefore, we add value by converting it into activated biochar and utilizing remove toxic metals from natural water. In this work, single-step physical activation (CO2 H2O) was planned optimized process parameters get better yield surface area. were using central composite design method. CO2 has an optimum area product 399.99 m2/g 26.79 %, whereas H2O 31.53 % 300 m2/g. SEM analysis shows that more uniform porous structure than biochar.
