Abstract In the process of global environmental governance, renewable energy (RE) has been focus government attention as an effective avenue to enhance sustainability. Hence, this paper utilises rolling‐window Granger causality test probe connection between RE and sustainable development (SD) further whether can be a solution reduce air pollution boost ecological The results reveal that both positive negative impacts on SD, which means effectively mitigate burden progress toward SD in certain period. This favourable impact supports conclusions energy‐environment model, indicates increasing share is beneficial improving benefits. Conversely, rise drives more investment clean projects contributes generation growth. However, economic policy changes will affect sector transmit shocks development. context increasingly severe situation, should take some proactive measures favouring sustainability deterioration quality.

Abstract Global warming, climate change and environmental pollution are considered among the important developments that threaten all world economies. In this context, transition to a zero-emission economy remains one of sustainability goals policymakers. The literature investigating tourism-environmental relationship has limited emphasis on role green technological innovation. Therefore, study explores effect tourism innovation CO 2 emissions in top 15 most visited countries during period 1995–2019. Renewable energy consumption, financial development economic growth integrated into equation as control variables. cointegration tests verify existence between long-run estimaters reveal tourism, renewable consumption serve improve quality by reducing emissions. Contrary these findings, play increase implying deterioration quality. bootstrap causality analysis points bidirectional findings will make contributions policy makers meeting their reduction targets. Considering increasing public interest in environment-related problems and the carbon-neutrality aims of countries, this study focuses on effect green bonds enabling carbon neutrality supporting clean electricity China, which is leading top carbon-emitting energy-using country world. In context, makes a disaggregated level empirical analysis by considering sectoral emissions source-based generation using quantile-based approaches from January 2, 2019, to December 31, 2023. The outcomes show that (i) decrease mainly transport international aviation sectors; (ii) have mixed effects remaining emissions; (iii) increase all sources at higher quantiles, whereas they lower quantiles. Thus, varies across sectors, sources, Accordingly, set policy endeavors, such as dealing with firstly critical sectors power industry, allocated bond issuance specified focusing some like solar wind, are argued for China.

Eskom’s power plants in South Africa face frequent breakdowns due to a lack of maintenance and increasing energy demand. The high dependence on coal for generation, which is resource that significantly contributes carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions impact the environment negatively, could be reduced by considering renewable sources. Renewable supply, dependent private sector funding economic growth, seen as solution environmental problems. study aimed examine if financial development growth supply discover co-integration exists between these variables, including variables defined determinants namely: CO2 emission generation; secondly, electricity supply; thirdly, price changes; lastly, load shedding levels. research gap identified twofold. Firstly, there relationship development, specifically Africa. Furthermore, existing other countries has produced inconclusive results. Secondly, minimal been conducted how impacts emerging markets. Thus, present sought bridge contribute scientific body knowledge related drivers supply. autoregression distributed lag (ARDL) model was employed test have statistically significant well direction relationship, an observation period from 1990 2021. results proved were reported positive long run short run. A can influence policy reforms assist National Energy Regulator (NERSA) government developing implementing policies encourage deployment infrastructure increase particularly regarding factors associated with addressing challenges growth.

In context EU Sustainable Development Goals, this study aims examine impact climate risk uncertainties (transitional (TRI) physical (PRI)), carbon allowances (EU ETS), technology index (MSCI) on ESG market. To end, uses quantile-on-quantile regression its multivariate version period from November 28, 2007, January 05, 2023. The results show TRI PRI increase development at higher quantiles, while ETS technological progress reduce progress. This shows change requires introduction stricter standards countries, provide benefits need

Abstract Low-carbon development is important to reduce global warming, allow people live in normal temperatures and climates, limit the loss of labor productivity by avoiding air pollution. However, greenwashing prevents low-carbon making companies appear more eco-friendly than they are. Therefore, this study examines influence financial technology (FinTech) credit implementation Pilot Low Carbon Project on corporate China from 2015 2021. The uses method moment quantile regression (MMQR) determine that FinTech low- carbon projects prevent behavior promote environmentally sustainable practices China. Fintech plays a crucial role monitoring environmental impact urban development, especially context City Initiative. Credit experiences notable reduction higher quantiles, between 75th 95th culminating significant decrease approximately − 0.07. Companies outside low city areas consistently experience negative greenwashing. This investigation contributes significantly discourse interplay greenwashing, development. It also provides valuable insights for strategies aimed at mitigating misleading claims made companies.
