Abstract This study delves into the influence of carbon accounting and green finance on sustainable development index within a dataset 500 Chinese publicly listed companies over period from 2010 to 2020. Leveraging analysis conducted through fully modified OLS methodology, research findings unveil that adoption positively impacts among these Chinese-listed firms. However, number employees engaged in exhibits an adverse effect index, consumption resources, including water electricity, demonstrates inverse relationship with overall sustainability In light findings, suggests several central policies bolster development. These include expanding markets by harnessing financial technology (fintech) big data, advancing corporate management, investing energy projects, establishing efficient taxation system.

From the perspective of energy consumption optimization, this paper studies impact green finance on carbon emissions in China. Firstly, based theoretical perspective, explores mechanism and path by which influences emissions, analyzes role process. Then, utilizes STIRPAT model, chain multiple mediation effect model panel threshold to empirically analyze influence using provincial data from China 2005 2019. The results are as follows: (1) Green significantly reduces emissions. After accounting for potential endogeneity, conclusion is still valid. heterogeneity test reveals that inhibitory more remarkable northern regions, high-carbon emission regions energy-rich regions. (2) bootstrap reveal at national level, decreases through three paths: technological innovation, ecological evolution industrial structure innovation facilitating structure. Furthermore, inhibits all paths, while energy-poor only innovation.
