The development of renewable energy is an important pathway to realize the structural transition consumption. This study investigates impact and mechanism foreign direct investment (FDI) on transforming host countries' consumption structure energy. We conducted empirical tests using cross-country panel data 65 economies from 2000 2020. results revealed that FDI significantly negatively impacts in countries. analysis established industry transfer technology spillover effects are not conducive country's Heterogeneity has a greater negative low-income countries non-OECD countries, as well with high levels agricultural manufacturing low service sector development. Abstract Despite the economic success, G7 nations have not adequately prioritized environmental welfare. However, these must recognize that prosperity cannot be sustained without safeguarding sustainability. In short, protection is a necessary component of achieving sustainable development goals. For this matter, study aims to analyze effects accumulative infrastructure development, growth, foreign direct investment, technological innovation, and institutional quality on CO 2 emissions countries. Using annual panel data from 1996 2020, employs cross‐sectional autoregressive distributed lags (CS‐ARDL) determine impacts variables under investigation. The findings show investment favorable effect improve quality. contrast, (transport, energy, financial, information communication [ICT]) innovation stimulate degradation by increasing emissions. These results are found robust, as validated Common Correlated Effect Mean Group (CCEMG). line with crucial findings, governments suggested specific measures supporting in environmental‐related technologies, growth implemented mitigate

This study investigates how foreign direct investment (FDI) has impacted Vietnam’s sustainable energy transition from 1988 to 2020, utilising the autoregressive distributed lags (ARDL) technique for analysis. In short term, a 1% increase in FDI is linked minor 0.015% reduction quality of transformation, indicating initial adverse environmental effects. However, long notable improvement 0.042% transformation suggests that FDI-driven initiatives positively contribute practices. Simultaneously, other factors such as Consumer Price Index (CPI) demonstrate detrimental impacts both term (0.039% decrease) and (0.429% decrease), posing challenges environmentally friendly projects. Conversely, Green Economic Growth displays significant positive effects (0.397% increase) (0.184% increase), emphasising importance fostering green economic growth. To accelerate progress transition, Vietnam encouraged implement policies encompassing digitization initiatives, introduction financing mechanisms, provision supportive incentives environmentally-conscious investors.
