Purpose
Despite
the
importance
of
tax
policy
in
reducing
energy
consumption
and
carbon
emissions,
there
is
a
dearth
research
on
environmental
impact
indirect
taxes.
This
paper
examines
taxes
dioxide
(CO
2
)
with
an
emphasis
institutional
quality.
Design/methodology/approach
The
study
uses
Government
Revenue
Dataset
(2021),
comprising
143
countries,
dividing
into
114
developing
29
developed
during
period
between
1996
2019.
author
adopts
panel
data
techniques,
Driscoll–Kraay
standard
errors
to
account
for
issue
cross-sectional
dependence
(CSD).
Findings
results
indicate
that
revenues
have
negative
significant
CO
emissions
total
sample.
