As a part of the transition in higher-level energy systems, distributed cross-sectoral systems (DCESs) play crucial role providing flexibility covering residual load (RL). However, there is currently no method available to quantify potential DCESs RL. In this paper, a critical issue related to power management control in autonomous hybrid systems is presented. Specifically, challenges optimizing the performance of energy sources and backup are proposed, especially under conditions heavy loads or low renewable output. Recommender systems play a critical role in optimizing building energy consumption by providing personalized advice based on data analytics and user preferences. However, the literature highlights need for that can justify their recommendations, as many of these use non-transparent machine-learning techniques.
