the
issue
of
climate
change
grows,
concepts
carbon
peaking
and
neutrality,
proposed
by
China,
have
increasingly
gained
traction.

international
context,
digital
technology

for
countries
worldwide

emission
reduction
goals.
This
study
empirically
explores
mechanism

emissions

A-share
listed
manufacturing
enterprises
from
2007
2021.
The
results
indicate

inverted
U-shaped
nonlinear
connection
between

enterprises.
Green
innovation,

environmental
regulations

The Impact of Environmental Subsidies and Enforcement on Green Innovation: Evidence from Heavy-Polluting Enterprises in China

This
paper
investigates
the
critical
role
of
government
policies
in
promoting
green
development
through
enterprise-level
innovation
(GI).
We
specifically
examine
impact
environmental
subsidies
(ES)
on
heavily
polluting
enterprises
and
analyze
how
enforcement
(EE)
moderates
this
relationship.
Furthermore,
we
explore
these
effects
vary
across
different
ES
characteristics
allocation
patterns.

data
from
heavy-polluting
listed
China’s
A-share
market
2012
to
2021,
our
analysis

several

findings.

ABSTRACT
Despite
the
recognized
importance
of
corporate
environmental
responsibility
(CER)
in
advancing
firms'
performance
emerging
economies
like
China,
its
role
enhancing
(EP)
remains
underexplored
existing
literature.
Drawing
on
institutional
perspective,
this
study
aims
to
investigate
relationship
between
CER
and
EP
how
factors—such
as
political
ties
(PT),
development,
industry
competition—shape
relationship.
Using
a
dataset
635
Chinese‐listed
firms
from
2011
2022,
we
test
theoretical
model
using
fixed‐effects
regression
model.
The
results
demonstrate
that
positively
influences
EP.
Additionally,
findings
reveal
PT
development
strengthen
positive
EP,
while
competition
weakens
it.
These
remain
robust
across
alternative
measures
endogeneity

including
