Purpose: To systematically present the publication trends related to sustainable energy, which is an interdisciplinary concept. Design/methodology/approach: This study performed bibliometric analysis investigate energy research between 1980 and 2022 using a sample of 1498 papers from Web Science (WoS) databases, with only published articles on energy. Findings: A reveals in publications, showing as emerging topic sustainability research. However, it seems that still niche area study. Within scope study, 2857 publications were included analysis. Of analysis, are 1089 other types. As result number United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals Paris Agreement has significantly increased since 2015. In 2022, highest was reached. It seen this finding supply security reflections geopolitical risks it. The keyword “sustainable energy” stands out most frequently used keyword. Research limitations/implications: based data database only; there will be some shortcomings findings.
