Agriculture, a critical industry highly susceptible to climate change, requires thorough analysis of its carbon reduction potential and priority exploration advance towards green sustainable development. Therefore, this study employs variable coefficient panel model examine the regional heterogeneity influencing factors. It also uses PSO-BP neural network simulate changes in China's agricultural intensity total emissions under three distinct scenarios. The findings revealed that (1) baseline scenario aggressive scenario, most Chinese provinces cities can achieve 30% by 2030, advanced economic development eastern coastal regions positions them favorably for achieving peak emissions. (2) Economic interventions are main driving force their targets, followed technological population adjustment. (3) Eight be used as emission benchmarks, while Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Henan challenging points attaining national targets.

Abstract The cement industry is among the top three polluters all industries and examination of nonlinear cointegration dynamics between production CO 2 emissions has not been explored. Focusing on this research gap, study employs a novel Markov-switching autoregressive distributed lag (MS-ARDL) model its generalization to vector error correction, MS-VARDL model, for regime-dependent causality testing. new method allows determination long-run short-run relations, regime duration, cement-induced-CO emission cycles in USA historically long dataset covering 1900–2021. Empirical findings point nonlinearity series cement-induced emissions. phases regimes coincide closely with NBER’s official economic USA. second regime, characterized by expansions, lasts twice as relative first, contractionary which contains severe recessions, well crises, 1929 Great Depression, 1973 Oil Crisis, 2009 Recession, COVID-19 Shutdown Wars, including WWI II. In both regimes, adverse effects cannot be rejected varying degrees short run. Markov regime-switching (MS-VARDL) tests confirm unidirectional from regimes. traditional Granger test produces an over-acceptance discussed set cases.
