This manuscript explores the role of green hydrogen produced through ethanol reforming in accelerating Brazil’s transition to a low-carbon economic framework. Despite ongoing efforts lessen carbon dependence, reliance on biofuels and other renewable energy sources remains inadequate for fully achieving its decarbonization objectives. Green presents vital opportunity boost sustainability, especially sectors that are challenging decarbonize, such as industry transportation. By analyzing input–output (I-O) table, using data from Brazilian Institute Geography Statistics (IBGE), this study evaluates macroeconomic potential hydrogen, focusing GDP growth employment generation. Furthermore, research systems’ feasibility impact future policies, offering valuable insights stakeholders decision-makers. In addition, investigation highlights abundant resources identifies infrastructural investments necessary support economy. The findings aim strengthen national strategy serve model developing nations transitioning clean energy.

Abstract Clean cooking fuels and technologies are crucial for tackling environmental degradation, climate change, deforestation, health issues, air pollution, poverty. However, many African countries, including Nigeria, continue to face significant challenges in accessing these resources. Existing research provides limited insights into the factors influencing adoption of clean technologies, particularly when analyzed through macroeconomic indicators from 2000 2022. Due nature data, nonlinear techniques were employed uncover associations. Specifically, innovative Wavelet Kernel Regularized Least Squares method was applied examine impact financial development, renewable energy consumption, information communication technology (ICT), political risk on access (ACE). Additionally, wavelet quantile cointegration introduced assess relationships among variables. The results reveal that economic growth has a minimal ACE short term but becomes more over time. ICT positively influences medium long term, while development tends reduce ACE. Renewable consumption promotes ACE, whereas impedes it term. improvements stability significantly enhance run. As global focus on energy transition and carbon reduction grows, efficiency renewable investment have become key policy tools. This study explores the nonlinear relationship between fossil fuel consumption, emphasizing threshold effect of investment. Using panel data from 71 countries a dynamic model, analysis reveals that at low levels, improvements may be limited by rebound effect, failing to significantly reduce consumption. However, once surpasses critical threshold, begins play stronger role in reducing use. A heterogeneity further shows developed those with trading systems are more effective leveraging for emission reduction.
