Abstract Shape‐memory materials (SMMs) combined with 3D printing to develop dynamic and adaptive products which are responsive physical, chemical, or biological stimuli. These structures categorized into 4D‐printed (4DPed) change their shape properties over time dimension. 4D printing, a novel, multidisciplinary, futuristic technology is expanding its utilization in different applications including healthcare, space, textile, soft robotics, defence, sports, aerospace, automotive sectors. This review article focuses on the recent insightful developments 4DP of SMMs especially shape‐memory polymers. also integrates technologies, programming for specific actuating mechanisms, most 4DPed structures/products. Abstract Nature frequently serves as an inspiration for modern robotics innovations that emphasize secure human–machine interaction. However, the advantages of increased automation and digital technology integration conflict with global environmental objectives. Accordingly, biodegradable soft robots have been proposed a range intelligent applications. Biodegradability provides extraordinary functional advantage operations involving shape transformation in response to external stimuli such heat, pH, light. Soft robot fabrication using conventional manufacturing techniques is inflexible, time‐consuming, labor‐intensive. Recent advances 3D 4D printing materials multi‐materials become key enabling direct manufacture complex designs functions. The rapid development in 3D printing applications requires exploring a sustainable printable mixture to decrease the environmental impact induced by existing Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) mixtures and enable technology reach its peak efficiency. high-volume substitution of OPC with supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) is significant interest as promising solution for developing low-carbon feedstock printing. Yet, those share problem limited availability. combination limestone calcined clay could be alternative, offering various benefits, including replacing high ratios. This paper reviews cement (LC3) mixtures, compositions, chemical behaviour. effect different sand-to-binder ratios, additives content, replacement levels, grade calcination, admixtures on fresh, hardened properties printed are critically discussed. production cost LC3 system compared other systems also evaluated along applications, future directions research gaps this field. findings review show that has similar performance better microstructure than system. Additive manufacturing technologies are getting attention as a prospective substitute for conventional medical implant production methods owing to their unique properties. In addition, biomaterials required bone repair and tissue engineering (BTE) techniques provide scaffolds with the necessary biological structural properties improved performance. this study, widely available biocompatible materials acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) polylactic acid (PLA) utilized design, fabrication, simulation, mechanical characterization of 3D-printed two lay-down patterns potentially engineering. Mechanical determined by compression test finite element analysis (FEA). Moreover, scanning electron microscope (SEM) images also analyzed determine printing accuracy scaffolds. The porosity is estimated both theoretically through liquid displacement method. Finally, comparative between PLA ABS indicates that scaffold has higher potential regeneration. This study provides notable contribution using cost-efficient easily biomaterial an alternative tissue.
