The inherent variability in solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems motivates developing dynamic and adaptive data-driven models capable of accurately predicting the systems' performance. A dynamic/adaptive K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN) model to estimate conversion efficiency a PV system is proposed this work. estimates test pattern based on three steps: (i) identifying similar historical operational conditions experienced by system, (ii) assigning weight each condition its similarity at hand, (iii) computing weighted average pattern. Thus, as nearest neighbors associated weights vary from one another. applied 7.98 kWp rooftop grid-connected Hashemite University Jordan. Its effectiveness evaluated resorting Mean Square Error (MSE), Accuracy, Coefficient Determination (R2), Adjusted R2 (R2adjusted), comparing results with traditional K-NN other techniques adequately developed same context, such Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Extreme Learning Machine (ELM), Multiple Linear Regression (MLR). Results show that exhibited superior performance across all metrics, gain reaching up 45.2% 6.8% for MSE R2adjusted, respectively, compared base MLR.
