Metasurfaces have been widely investigated across the disciplines of optical biosensing due to their exceptional ability manipulate electromagnetic fields. Consequently, over past few years, there has growing interest in application metasurfaces biosensors field biomedical sensing. While being label-free and offering real-time tracking, high sensitivity, a quick response are among benefits conventional biosensors, incorporation improves wavefront manipulation, selectivity for versatile sensing, capacity device miniaturization satisfy increasingly complex requirements. Furthermore, is lack comprehensive evaluations that address current research developments future possibilities, despite encouraging advancements this emerging field. Hence, work provides review serves as valuable resource researchers exploring metasurface-based biosensors. This delves into defining basic sensing concepts, design procedures, important figures merit (FOM) applications, including detection numerous analytes, such viruses, toxins, antibodies, tumors, drugs monitoring blood sugar. presenting critical evaluation structural fabrication techniques with view toward potential commercialization, ends by highlighting several fascinating areas further investigation.
