This numerical study utilizes a validated Plaxis 3D model calibrated against full-scale field tests to investigate the lateral load-sharing mechanism of pile cap in 3 × group under horizontal loading. Numerical simulations reveal that significantly enhances bearing capacity while reducing displacement by an average 59.5%. The ratio decreases from 62% at low loads 50% higher loads, with corresponding increase contributions. decomposition cap’s resistance identifies passive earth pressure (PC-E) as dominant component (72–80%), followed base friction (PC-B, 15–18%) and side (PC-S, 5–12%). According parametric analyses, increasing embedment depth (H) 0.5 m 3.0 elevates approximately 60%, expanding width (B) 2.5 3.5 contact area. A power function relationship quantifies (β) product H B. These findings provide critical insights for optimizing geometry improving design laterally loaded foundations.
