BACKGROUND Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) frequently experience exacerbations requiring multiple hospitalizations over prolonged courses, which predispose them to generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). This comorbidity exacerbates breathing difficulties, activity limitations, and social isolation. While previous studies predominantly employed the GAD 7-item scale for screening, this approach is somewhat subjective. The current literature on predictive models risk in patients COPD limited. AIM To construct validate a prediction model aid healthcare professionals preventing onset of GAD. METHODS retrospective analysis encompassed treated at our institution from July 2021 February 2024. were categorized into modeling (MO) group validation (VA) 7:3 ratio basis occurrence Univariate multivariate logistic regression analyses utilized model, was visualized using forest plots. model’s performance evaluated Hosmer-Lemeshow (H-L) goodness-of-fit test receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. RESULTS A total 271 subjects included, 190 MO 81 VA group. identified 67 COPD, resulting prevalence rate 24.72% (67/271), 49 cases (18.08%) 18 (22.22%) Significant differences observed between without terms educational level, average household income, smoking history, index, number past year, cardiovascular comorbidities, knowledge, personality traits (P < 0.05). Multivariate revealed that lower education levels, income 3000 China yuan, index ≥ 400 cigarettes/year, two complete lack information, introverted significant factors ROC indicated area under predicting groups 0.978 0.960. H-L yielded χ 2 values 6.511 5.179, P = 0.275 0.274. Calibration curves demonstrated good agreement predicted actual risks. CONCLUSION developed includes eight independent factors: Educational presence level traits. effectively predicts enabling early identification high-risk individuals providing preventive interventions by nursing staff.

Abstract The association between health-related role limitations in the mental and physical subdomains clinical status (i.e., chronic disease comorbid depressive symptoms) is mediated by health-promoting behaviors. To enhance behaviors adults with disease, it necessary to identify item-level associations among targets of monitoring management. Therefore, current study used a network approach examine limitations, symptoms, existential well-being, socioeconomic position, behavior disease. A total 535 (mean ± SD age = 62.9 11.9 years; males, n 231, females, 304) who were regularly visiting an outpatient clinic for treatment participated this cross-sectional study. Data on participant demographics, diagnoses, status, (12-item short form survey scores), symptoms (patient health questionnaire-9 well-being (scores four items McGill quality life questionnaire-Revised), (Healthy Habits Questionnaire scores) acquired. “Undirected regularized partial correlations” “directional joint probability distributions” these variables calculated using mixed graphical model (MGM) directed acyclic graph (DAG). In MGM, most influential nodes emotional feelings failure, affecting usual activities. According both MGM DAG, relationship failure relationships concentration difficulty suicidal ideation. positive mindset was dependent distributions ideation, controllability life, self-image. Both meaning had direct proactive living. Specifically, living associated balanced diet, regular exercise, volunteering community, nurturing intimacy social interactions. individuals diseases could mediate related activities, symptoms.
