The diversity of urban residents’ dietary in China has increased with socioeconomic development. However, still there is a prominent problem unbalanced and inadequate regional development diet. Exploring the characteristics structure residents as expressed by Dietary Structure Index (DSI) holds greater significance for healthier China. This paper analyzes spatiotemporal differentiation influencing factors DSI Chinese residents, concludes that from 2015 to 2022, average values showed significant upward trend. Specifically, comprehensive animal-based have gap scientifically recommended balanced pattern, while plant-based generally higher. There clear pattern spatial distribution China, which shows decreasing trend northeast southwest. agglomeration are significantly higher than DSI. In general, positively correlated level consumption, urbanization, education, negatively consumer price index. We propose promoting diets reducing excessive meat consumption high-DSI regions, leveraging infrastructure deliver nutrition education providing subsidies food options markets. low-DSI interventions should focus on incentivizing local production vegetables legumes through agricultural subsidies, expanding cold-chain logistics enhance perishable foods, establishing community-based programs improve literacy, argue these potential measures optimize residents.
