Abstract Numerous efforts to measure land surface fluxes, from leaf canopy scales, have significantly advanced the field of biogeoscience. However, upscaling these estimates larger spatial and temporal scales remains a challenge. Recent advancements in remote sensing provide new opportunities bridge gaps efforts. In this review, I propose that emerging satellite data can support robust fluxes terms space through constellations low Earth orbit satellites, time geostationary spectrum via optical, thermal, microwave satellites. Lastly, recommend development long‐term network integrating tower‐based hyperspectral, instruments rigorously evaluate process fluxes.

Harmful algae blooms (HABs) pose critical threats to aquatic ecosystems and human economies, driven by their rapid proliferation, oxygen depletion capacity, toxin release, biodiversity impacts. These blooms, increasingly exacerbated climate change, compromise water quality in both marine freshwater ecosystems, significantly affecting life coastal economies based on fishing tourism while also posing serious risks inland bodies. This article examines the role of hyperspectral imaging (HSI) monitoring HABs. HSI, with its superior spectral resolution, enables precise classification mapping diverse species, emerging as a pivotal tool environmental surveillance. An array HSI techniques, algorithms, deployment platforms are evaluated, analyzing efficacy across varied geographical contexts. Notably, sensor-based studies achieved up 90% accuracy, regression-based chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) estimations frequently reaching coefficients determination (R2) above 0.80. quantitative findings underscore potential for robust HAB diagnostics early warning systems. Furthermore, we explore current limitations future management, highlighting strategic importance addressing growing economic challenges posed paper seeks provide comprehensive insight into HSI’s capabilities, fostering integration global strategies against proliferation.

Invasive species can alter the structure and functioning of invaded ecosystem, but predictions impact invasive on ecosystem are weak. Invasion is determined by interplay traits, recipient community, environmental context. However, efficient approaches to assess spatial dimension functional changes in heterogeneous environments altered plant-plant interactions lacking. Based recent technological progress, we posit a way forward i) quantify fine-scale heterogeneity context, ii) map function system, iii) trace induced invader with tracers, iv) integrate different spatio-temporal information from scales using (artificial intelligence-based) modelling better predict invasion impacts. An animated 3-D model visualisation demonstrates how maps tracers reveal dynamics Merging fine- coarse-scale spatially explicit remotely sensed metrics will open new avenues for detecting impacts functioning.

Abstract PRISMA is a hyperspectral satellite mission launched by the Italian Space Agency (ASI) in April 2019. The designed to collect data at global scale for variety of applications, including those related cryosphere. This study presents an evaluation Level 1 (L1) and 2 (L2D) products different snow conditions. To aim, were collected three sites: two Western European Alps (Torgnon Plateau Rosa) one East Antarctica (Nansen Ice Shelf). acquired contemporary both field measurements Sentinel‐2 data. Simulated Top Atmosphere (TOA) radiance then compared L1 TOA radiance. Bottom Of (BOA) reflectance from L2D L2A evaluated direct comparison with Both BOA generally good agreement data, showing Mean Absolute Difference (MAD) lower than 5%. resulted higher MAD site Torgnon, which features highest topographic complexity within investigated areas. In Rosa we obtained best between situ measurements, values 5% 400–900 nm range. Nansen Shelf instead <10% while showed other sources.

This paper addresses the problem of insurance companies' underwriting decisions under extreme weather conditions. Firstly, data were preprocessed, including identifying and processing missing outlier analysis. Then an decision-making model based on hazard insolvency factor is established, corresponding solutions are proposed. Finally, through validation empirical analysis, strategies companies different risk levels derived, suggestions given.
