Abstract
Numerous
efforts
to
measure
land
surface
fluxes,
from
leaf
canopy
scales,
have
significantly
advanced
the
field
of
biogeoscience.
However,
upscaling
these
estimates
larger
spatial
and
temporal
scales
remains
a
challenge.
Recent
advancements
in
remote
sensing
provide
new
opportunities
bridge
gaps
efforts.
In
this
review,
I
propose
that
emerging
satellite
data
can
support
robust
fluxes
terms
space
through
constellations
low
Earth
orbit
satellites,
time
geostationary
spectrum
via
optical,
thermal,
microwave
satellites.
Lastly,
recommend
development
long‐term
network
integrating
tower‐based
hyperspectral,
instruments
rigorously
evaluate
process
fluxes.

Mapping Harmful Algae Blooms: The Potential of Hyperspectral Imaging Technologies

Harmful
algae
blooms
(HABs)
pose
critical
threats
to
aquatic
ecosystems
and
human
economies,
driven
by
their
rapid
proliferation,
oxygen
depletion
capacity,
toxin
release,
biodiversity
impacts.
These
blooms,
increasingly
exacerbated
climate
change,
compromise
water
quality
in
both
marine
freshwater
ecosystems,
significantly
affecting
life
coastal
economies
based
on
fishing
tourism
while
also
posing
serious
risks
inland
bodies.
This
article
examines
the
role
of
hyperspectral
imaging
(HSI)
monitoring
HABs.
HSI,
with
its
superior
spectral
resolution,
enables
precise
classification
mapping
diverse
species,
emerging
as
a
pivotal
tool
environmental
surveillance.
An
array
HSI
techniques,
algorithms,
deployment
platforms
are
evaluated,
analyzing
efficacy
across
varied
geographical
contexts.
Notably,
sensor-based
studies
achieved
up
90%
accuracy,
regression-based
chlorophyll-a
(Chl-a)
estimations
frequently
reaching
coefficients
determination
(R2)
above
0.80.
quantitative
findings
underscore
potential
for
robust
HAB
diagnostics
early
warning
systems.
Furthermore,
we
explore
current
limitations
future
management,
highlighting
strategic
importance
addressing
growing
economic
challenges
posed
paper

insight
into
HSI’s

integration
global
strategies
against

Invasive
species
can
alter
the
structure
and
functioning
of
invaded
ecosystem,
but
predictions
impact
invasive
on
ecosystem
are
weak.
Invasion
is
determined
by
interplay
traits,
recipient
community,
environmental
context.
However,
efficient
approaches
to
assess
spatial
dimension
functional
changes
in
heterogeneous
environments
altered
plant-plant
interactions
lacking.
Based
recent
technological
progress,
we
posit
a
way
forward
i)
quantify
fine-scale
heterogeneity
context,
ii)
map
function
system,
iii)
trace
induced
invader
with
tracers,
iv)
integrate
different
spatio-temporal
information
from
scales
using
(artificial
intelligence-based)
modelling
better
predict
invasion
impacts.
An
animated
3-D
model
visualisation
demonstrates
how
maps
tracers
reveal
dynamics
Merging
fine-
coarse-scale
spatially
explicit
remotely
sensed
metrics
will
open
new
avenues
for
detecting
impacts
functioning.

Abstract
PRISMA
is
a
hyperspectral
satellite
mission
launched
by
the
Italian
Space
Agency
(ASI)
in
April
2019.
The
