Various processes designed for the humification (HF) of animal husbandry wastes, primarily bird droppings, reduce their volumes, solve environmental problems, and make it possible to obtain products with artificially formed humic substances (HSs) as analogues natural HSs, usually extracted from fossil sources (coal peat). This review studies main characteristics various biological physicochemical methods HF wastes (composting, anaerobic digestion, pyrolysis, hydrothermal carbonation, acid or alkaline hydrolysis, subcritical water extraction). A comparative analysis rates HS yields in these processes, resulting artificial HSs (humification index, polymerization degree aromaticity, etc.) was carried out. The factors (additives, process conditions, waste pretreatment, that can increase efficiency affect properties are highlighted. Based on results chemical composition analysis, trends preferences regard use complex biomimetics discussed.

In order to address the issue of low amino acid retention in production xylooligosaccharides (XOS) through hydrothermal pretreatment at high temperatures, a novel approach combining temperature hydrolysis and enzymatic was employed. This innovative method not only allows for acid-rich XOS, but also yields valuable byproduct known as humic-like (HLA) from vinegar residue (VR). Under optimal conditions (89°C, 6 h, 1.2% sulfuric acid), yield XOS 19.88%. Furthermore, hydrolyzate extracted pretreated VR had content 2.65 g/L acids (corresponding rate 82.0%), HLA sample 10.51%. Comprehensive analyses, such Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, total acidic functional group, nuclear magnetic resonance were employed examine structure composition produced HLA, indicating that it similar natural CHA minerals. Through this approach, offers sustainable solution addresses maximizes potential resource.
