This article compares two new textile materials used to clean up spills of oil or products (crude oil, diesel fuel, and base SN 150). The plain-woven cotton fabric is hydrophilic, with a typical porous structure. After coating layer chitosan modified benzaldehyde cross-linked glutaraldehyde (CB), its hydrophobicity increases, hence the sorption affinity hydrophobic hydrocarbons. Including in situ synthesized zinc oxide particles (CBZ) changes structure increases capacity. morphology layers was assessed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) by comparing contact angles pollutants against composite materials.
