The study focuses on the in silico analysis of cysteine-rich secretory proteins and PR1-like (CAP) genes finger lime (Citrus australasica), a citrus species known for its tolerance to Huanglongbing (HLB). We identified several genes, all belonging CRISP family within CAP superfamily. Of them, CaCAP2 transcript levels increased by over 300-fold compared 'Valencia' sweet orange upon infection with 'Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus' (CaLas). Localization studies using an EGFP fusion showed that CAP2 protein is predominantly located nucleus, extracellular plasma membrane. also examined response cold, drought stress, salicylic acid application. Despite environmental stress causing apparent damage, seem play significant role managing both biotic abiotic stresses. Analysis gene promoters from revealed 95.33% sequence identity, variations transcription factor-binding sites cis-acting elements such as Stress Response Element (STRE: AGGGG), which might influence differential expression between two species. Additionally, expressing lime-derived transgenic Nicotiana tabacum induced strong defense against Pseudomonas syringae pv. Tabaci., underscoring gene's crucial plant mechanisms bacterial pathogens.

Climate changes and environmental contaminants are daunting challenges that require an urgent change from current agricultural practices to sustainable agriculture. Biostimulants natural solutions adhere the principles of organic farming believed have low impacts on environment human health. Further, they may contribute reducing use chemical inputs while maintaining productivity in adverse environments. generally defined as formulated substances microorganisms showing benefits for plant growth, yield, rhizosphere function, nutrient-use efficiency, quality harvested products, or abiotic stress tolerance. These biosolutions categorized different subclasses. Several them enriched glycomolecules their oligomers. However, very few studies considered active molecules biostimulation a subclass own. Herein, we describe structure functions complex polysaccharides, glycoproteins, glycolipids relation defense biostimulation. We also discuss parallels between sugar-enhanced with introduce concept sweet glycostimulation.

Peppers are widely cultivated around the world, yet they suffer from infections caused by Phytophthora capsici fungi throughout year, which severely impacts their yield. The β-1,3-glucanase gene has been shown in previous studies to significantly enhance plants’ ability cope with both biotic and abiotic stresses, including fungal infections. However, its function peppers not reported. In this study, 80 CaBG genes were initially identified, before being filtered down 54 CaBGs peppers, analyses conducted on physicochemical properties, chromosomal localization, phylogenetic tree relationships, synteny, promoters, expression levels of BG family. results indicated that these located 12 chromosomes. Phylogenetic analysis classified into three subfamilies, α, β, γ, each own specific functions, γ subfamily associated disease resistance peppers. Synteny showed relatively conserved have undergone extensive whole-genome duplication events. Promoter induced plant hormones various external stressors. Transcriptomic RT-qPCR revealed CaBG7 CaBG12 activated following infection P. capsici, two markedly higher resistant plants compared susceptible ones. Based analysis, we propose may be key for chili This study provides a theoretical basis breeding capsici-resistant molecular methods.

Abstract Pathogenesis-related proteins (PRs) are essential for plant defense against both biotic and abiotic stresses. However, knowledge regarding PRs in pears remains limited. In this study, 637 PRs, classified into 16 families, were identified Pyrus bretschneideri . Phylogenetic, sequence similarity, secondary structure analyses enabled the classification of several with conserved sequences, including PR-11, PR-8, PR-15, PR-16. Genomic analysis revealed that expansion most PR families resulted from recent whole-genome duplication (WGD) events, occurring approximately 30–45 million years ago (Mya). Various gene mechanisms have collectively contributed to proliferation purifying selection indicated by low Ka/Ks ratios. Examination apoplastic fluid composition showed only a subset was present apoplast. Transcriptomic data infected Erwinia amylovora Colletotrichum fructicola expression profiles genes post-infection, underscoring complexity regulation. This study elucidates evolutionary expansion, regulation, functional roles disease resistance, highlighting certain as reliable markers pear resistance. These findings offer valuable insights future breeding strategies enhance resistance pathogens.

Abstract Alfalfa ( Medicago sativa L.), a vital leguminous forage crop, faces growth and distribution constraints due to abiotic stresses, such as drought. Pathogenesis‐related protein 1 (PR‐1) is major class of plant defense proteins involved in responses environmental stress. However, the functional roles PR‐1 gene family alfalfa under drought stress remain largely unexplored. Nineteen MsPR‐1 genes were identified genome through systematic screening, with phylogenetic clustering dividing these into three evolutionarily distinct clades. Expression profiling highlighted MsPR‐1‐12 candidate for tolerance. Subcellular localization indicated that localized nucleus membranes cellular membranes. Furthermore, reverse transcription quantitative PCR(RT‐qPCR) analysis demonstrated significant upregulation Heterologous expression yeast conferred enhanced resistance. These findings provide novel insights offer valuable genetic resources development drought‐tolerant varieties engineering.
