Postharvest guava fruit are at high risk of decay and spoilage, which extremely restrains the further advancement industry in China. Currently, slightly acidic electrolyzed water (SAEW) has been shown to be potent maintaining storability fruits vegetables. Accordingly, this work was designed figure out effectiveness SAEW on maintenance postharvest guavas via regulating phenylpropane metabolism. On harvest day, fresh were immersed distilled or (available chlorine concentration: 30 mg L−1) for 10 min, followed by storage 15 d (25 °C, 80% RH). Results showed that, comparation with control guavas, SAEW-treated exhibited lower levels disease index, malondialdehyde, cell membrane permeability, while showing higher firmness commercially acceptable rate, as evidenced enhanced contents titratable acid, total soluble solids, vitamin C, sugar, reducing sugar. Moreover, treatment improved activities disease-resistance enzymes sinapic p-coumaric ferulic caffeic lignin. The above data revealed that treatment-enhanced attributed increased enzyme substance contents, resistance slowed down occurrence.

Blueberries are highly prone to postharvest decay, resulting in significant nutrient loss and economic damage. Current research on the storage of blueberries primarily focuses techniques, while underlying mechanisms remain insufficiently explored. To further explore role exogenous melatonin (MT) delaying senescence blueberry fruit, this study treated fruits with sterile water (control) 300 μmol·L−1 MT during pink fruit stage. After maturation, were stored at 4 °C for 30 days, we investigated effects quality, reactive oxygen species (ROS) metabolism, antioxidant enzyme activities, expression related genes. The results showed that, compared control, effectively delayed increase decay rate decline firmness, enhancing total soluble solids (TSS) content ascorbic acid (AsA) levels. It also reduced accumulation malondialdehyde (MDA), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), production superoxide anion (O2−), maintaining higher activities ascorbate peroxidase (APX), dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT). Furthermore, treatment upregulated enzyme-related genes VcSOD1, VcSOD2, VcAPX3. These findings indicate that treating stage improves alleviates oxidative damage, delays senescence. This provides a theoretical foundation practical reference preservation, laying groundwork understanding regulatory

Dendrobium officinale Kimura & Migo is a perennial herbaceous plant of the genus in family Orchidaceae with high medicinal value. Melatonin (MT) an indole-like tryptamine functions such as regulating growth and development. This experiment investigated effects different concentrations MT on development protocorms D. protocorm-like bodies (PLBs). The results showed that changes morphological indicators color, cluster size, surface were more significant under 75 µM than those 0 (CK), appearance white PLB was expedited, which conducive to proliferation PLBs. treatment 100 inhibited differentiation adventitious buds, contents photosynthetic pigments, polysaccharides, flavonoids significantly increased. Moreover, compared CK, activities superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT) PLBs increased significantly, while content malondialdehyde (MDA) decreased gradually or less. In conclusion, concentration melatonin can enhance rapid propagation rate vitro, providing insights into tissue-cultured seedlings.

Summary The global demand for dehydrated onion is on the rise, driven by increasing consumer preference ready‐to‐eat convenience foods. This study focused enhancing quality and functional properties of slices (cv. Pusa Shobha) through different pre‐treatment drying conditions. Fresh were subjected to using NaCl (3%, 5% 7%) KMS (0.3%, 0.5% 0.7%) solutions 10 min, followed tray at 50 °C, 60 °C 70 temperatures varying durations 14, 12 h, respectively. Based physicochemical properties, pretreated with + h retained higher bioactive compounds like total phenols (166.32 mg GAE 100 g −1 DW), flavonoids (28.94 QE ascorbic acid (12.45 quercetin (172.88 μg DW) antioxidant activity (24.59 μmol TE DW). Additionally, it maintained superior sensory acceptability pungency (7.15 dehydration ratio (9.25%), rehydration (5.20%), lower non‐enzymatic browning (0.36) moisture content (5.75%). Hence, optimised treatment ‘Pusa Shobha’ KMS, yields compounds, acceptability, enhanced properties. findings his research offer valuable technology food industry, providing a practical efficient method produce high‐quality slices.
