Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR)-based biodetection systems have emerged as powerful tools for real-time, label-free biomolecular interaction analysis, revolutionizing fields such diagnostics, drug discovery, and environmental monitoring. This review highlights the foundational principles of SPR, focusing on interplay evanescent waves surface plasmons that underpin its high sensitivity specificity. Recent advancements in SPR technology, including enhancements sensor chip materials, integration with nanostructures, coupling complementary detection techniques, are discussed to showcase their role improving analytical performance. The paper also explores diverse applications systems, ranging from pathogen cancer biomarker identification food safety monitoring toxin analysis. By providing a comprehensive overview technological progress emerging trends, this underscores transformative potential SPR-based addressing critical scientific societal challenges.
