Abstract
Graphene
Oxide
(GO)
was
synthesized
using
the
Modified
Hummers
Method
and
subsequently
thermally
reduced
to
produce
(rGO).
X-ray
diffraction
(XRD)
analysis
indicated
crystalline
dimensions
of
approximately
5
nm
for
GO
7
rGO,
suggesting
a
slight
increase
in
crystallinity
after
reduction.
UV-vis
spectroscopy
revealed
distinct
electronic
properties:
exhibited
an
optical
band
gap
2.42
eV,
which
narrowed
1.33
eV
indicating
improved
conductivity
post-reduction.
Raman
Spectroscopy
showed
characteristic
D
G
bands,
with
ID/IG
intensity
ratio
increasing
thermal
reduction,
higher
degree
structural
defects
rGO.
Scanning
Electron
Microscopy
(SEM)
provided
morphological
insights,
while
Energy
Dispersive
(EDAX)
confirmed
reduction
oxygen-containing
groups
Electrochemical
analyses
Electrical
Impedance
(EIS)
Cyclic
Voltammetry
(CV)
demonstrated
enhanced
charge
storage
faster
electron
transfer
kinetics
rGO
compared
GO,
highlighting
its
potential
superior
supercapacitor
electrodes.
This
study
underscores
diverse
properties
GO-rGO,
essential
advancing
electrochemical
energy
technologies.
