Forest and land fires in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, are a serious issue that endangers the environment well-being of community.The main causes forest lack firefighting equipment, low public awareness, practice clearing by burning.This research aims to formulate effective policies for handling with focus on improving infrastru cture, community education campaigns, technological empowerment.This uses qualitative approach interview techniques, observation, document analysis extract information from relevant stakeholders.The results policy formulation concluded some proposed alternatives involve infrastructure, empowerment.The combination these strategies is expected create positive changes handlin g fires.Holistic implementation, involving active participation stakeholders, key overcoming Regency.Suggestions policymakers include strengthening regulations, investing technology, financial incentives support sustainable practices.
