Introduction Unintended wounding or bruising during harvest postharvest handling leads to significant tuber loss and imposes economic burden potato industry. Therefore, finding effective strategies mitigate wound-related losses is very important from industry perspectives. Formation of protective barrier through accumulation suberin polyphenolics (SPP) a natural initial response tissues wounding. Materials methods In this study, efficacy two elicitors, such as chitosan oligosaccharide (COS 0.125 g L -1 ) cranberry pomace residue (Nutri-Cran was investigated using mechanically wounded tissue model by histological determination SPP formation in five agronomically relevant red-skin cultivars (Chieftain, Dakota Rose, Ruby, Red LaSoda, Norland). Furthermore, the potential role stress metabolic regulation involving phenolic metabolites, proline, antioxidant enzymes WH processes were also 0-9 days after Results discussion Exogenous treatments both COS Nutri-Cran resulted into enhanced surface, but impact more rapid with treatment select cultivars. Greater contents total soluble phenolic, ferulic acid, chlorogenic activity, superoxide dismutase activity observed elicitor treated at different time points reduced succinate dehydrogenase Norland Ruby 3 d, indicating suppression respiration rate. Collectively, these results suggest that can be potentially utilized an tubers for minimizing losses.

Alpha lipoic acid (α-LA) is a powerful antioxidant, which can reduce oxidative damage and inflammation in the host. In previous research, we found that 600 mg/kg α-LA supplemented diet could improve activity of antioxidant enzymes regulate secretion inflammatory factors rumen sheep. However, mechanism driving capacity sheep remains unknown. The aim this current research was to investigate role processes Transcriptomic metabolomic analyses were performed assess variation genes metabolites epithelial tissue induced LA (600 α-LA) group compared with CTL (0 group. results showed some discovered core negatively correlated activity. G6PD HK2, downregulated upregulated comparison LA/CTL, enriched pentose phosphate pathway (PPP) pathways mannose oligosaccharide metabolism, respectively. PPP metabolic within cells, primarily functioning produce nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADPH) ribose-5-phosphate. differential 2-oxocarboxylic improves epithelium by increasing enzymatic activities SOD. conclusion, present study demonstrated improved regulating metabolism. This will provide theoretical basis for application raising
