Desertification poses a serious threat to ecosystem health, and with global changes, the variability uncertainty of ecological functions in semi-arid alpine regions are increasing. A pressing issue is quantifying how desertification affects soil system these areas. However, empirical evidence still lacking exploring interaction between degradation gradients under natural conditions by coupling physicochemical properties, microbiota, vegetation. For this purpose, we conducted survey sampling vegetation at five sites no, light, moderate, severe extremely Qinghai Area Qilian Mountains National Park, China. We introduced new concept health stability (SHS) represent actual status systems assessed impact on stability. observed that intensification has led significant decrease organic matter, relative abundance microorganisms, plant factors. The contributions factors microbiota SHS showed negative correlation gradient. varied across different gradients, rather than following single linear relationship, relatively rapid decline transition from non-desertification moderate desertification. Our work emphasizes coupled SHS. It calls for intensified prevention treatment mild desertification, while providing methods deeper scientific understanding accurately evaluating regions.

In the southern Xinjiang region of China, developing efficient irrigation and fertilization strategies to enhance resource utilization prevent desertification is critical importance. This study focuses on jujubes in Xinjiang, involves a three-year field experiment aimed at exploring optimal application strategy magnetically treated water combined with microbial organic fertilizer provide scientific support for high-quality jujube production. The included control group (using only fresh water, denoted as CK) combinations drip varying amounts fertilizer: 2021, treatments M0 (only irrigating water), M6 (0.6 t/ha), M12 (1.2 M18 (1.8 M24 (2.4 t/ha); 2022 2023, M0, M48 (4.8 t/ha). investigated effects soil physical properties, hydraulic parameters, enzyme activity, aggregate stability, yield quality. significantly reduced bulk density by 3.07% 11.04% increased porosity 1.97% 14.75%. Soil saturated conductivity gradually decreased increasing amount fertilizer, reduction range 5.95% 13.69%, while water-holding capacity improved (from 0.217 cm3/cm3 0.264 cm3/cm3). Additionally, enhanced activities urease, catalase, sucrase proportion large aggregates. Jujube 3.66% 21.38%, quality improved, evidenced increase soluble sugar flavonoid content. Gauss model calculation results recommended 3.09 t·hm2 comprehensively improving These findings indicate that high quality, providing evidence desert improvement agricultural

This study was conducted during the two successive seasons 2022 and 2023 at Wadi El-Natron west Nile Delta (EL-Behera governorate) to evaluate three commercial magnetic devices “Water magnetizers” of different manufacturers (Nefertari Biomagnetic 6000 Gauss, Magnolith 8000 Water 14000 Gauss), figure out which is more effective reduce negative effect irrigating olive trees with saline water. The examined on vegetative growth, leaf mineral contents, chlorophyll content, proline relative water content Manzanillo trees. experiment confirmed that can be irrigated containing 3500 ppm without causing high salt stress. Data also showed a positive magnetically treated all growth characters (growth rate, stem diameter, number green leaves), an increase in elements experimental plant leaves except sodium chloride, decreased content. In terms determining whether are than others, has been demonstrated achieve best results when compared other devices, most cases difference between using "Delta Water" or "Nefertari" not big enough significant. recorded almost lowest values studied characters, chlorophyll, indicates strength magnets alone only thing affects how well device works; furthermore, it depends fields configured manufacturing expertise.

The bare row spacing between young jujube trees reduces resource use efficiency. Planting cotton rows of jujubes can improve the efficiency light, heat, water, and temperature resources. However, it is not clear how many would be most suitable pattern. A field study with different cropping systems was performed to investigate land equivalent ratio (LER), competition jujube, sustainability index. treatments included (1) monoculture (2) cotton, (3) intercropped two (J/C2), (4) four (J/C4), (5) six (J/C6). results showed that LER under J/C2, J/C4, J/C6 were 1.17, 1.30, 1.28, respectively. total yield higher J/C2 than J/C4 treatments. overyielding rate increased, while those decreased increasing cotton. less 0. net, complementarity, selection effect, index significantly showing stronger net effects. Both complementarity effects contributed intercropping advantages. Comprehensively considering yield, economic efficiency, index, one productive sustainable planting patterns jujube–cotton system in southern Xinjiang, which more ideal pattern arid semi-arid regions.
