Due to water scarcity challenges around the world, it is essential think about non-conventional resources address increased demand in clean freshwater. Environmental and public health problems may result from insufficient provision of sanitation wastewater disposal facilities. Because this, treatment recycling methods will be vital provide sufficient freshwater coming decades, since are limited more than 70% consumed for irrigation purposes. Therefore, application treated agricultural has much potential, especially when incorporating reuse nutrients like nitrogen phosphorous, which plant production. Among current technologies applied urban irrigation, wetlands were concluded one most suitable ones terms pollutant removal have advantages due both low maintenance costs required energy. Abstract Nature-based solutions (NBS) can protect, manage and restore natural or modified ecosystems. They are a multidisciplinary, integrated approach to address societal challenges some hazards effectively adaptively, simultaneously providing human well-being biodiversity benefits. NBS applications be easily noticed in circular cities, establishing an urban system that is regenerative accessible. This paper aims offer review on for water management from the literature relevant projects running within COST Action ‘Implementing nature-based creating resourceful city’. The method used study based detailed tracking of specific keywords using Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Academia.edu, ScienceDirect Scopus. Based this review, three main were identified: (i) flood drought protection; (ii) water-food-energy nexus; (iii) purification. shows provide additional benefits, such as improving quality, increasing biodiversity, obtaining social co-benefits, microclimate, reduction energy consumption by indoor climate. concludes systemic change should given higher priority preferred over conventional infrastructure.
