Urban green spaces are considered an appropriate way to reduce urban heat island effects and provide comfort the nearby occupants. In addition cooling actual space, also able influence surrounding area, this phenomenon is called space effect. The most important issues with regard of intensity density cooling, which can play a major role for designers planners in dealing island. This article reviews latest studies that have examined recent years. Based on method evaluation their samples, divided into three groups. first category consists research set one part or entire city, mainly conducted through remote sensing satellite maps. second investigates city parks several recognizable shapes locations. section, information was gathered by virtue field observations. third relates according different scenarios placement modeled simulation. results present study illustrate highest effect distance large area more than 10 ha; however, natural elements qualities spaces, as well climate characteristics, highly inform

The cooling effect of blue-green space has been recognized as a promising approach to mitigate the urban heat island (UHI), while quantitative role (threshold-size for cooling) is still uncertain. This paper aims present latest progress and controversies on studies effects waterbodies, greenspaces, parks. In order do this research, international search engines were employed systematically peer-reviewed articles, including threshold-size-based UHI mitigation studies. After that, inductive analysis used analyze relevant literature. We found that previous concentrated correlations between different landscape types, temperature variations quantification intensity, etc. However, research received less attention, which limits ability make specific recommendations actionable planning management – usingthe smallest best effect. review also revealed over size, shape, composition configuration Besides, we pointed out uncertainties (i.e., optimal proportion in park) reasons controversial results need be further investigated. suggested more attention should paid quantify contributions local background climate characteristics (threshold-size) space. would give us deeper understanding field provide insights into adaption planning.

Biodiversity is a cornerstone of human health and well-being. However, while evidence the contributions nature to rapidly building, research into how biodiversity relates remains limited in important respects. In particular, better mechanistic understanding range pathways through which can influence needed. These relate both psychological social processes as well biophysical processes. Building on from across natural, sciences, we present conceptual framework organizing linking health. Four domains pathways—both beneficial harmful—link with health: (i) reducing harm (e.g. provision medicines, decreasing exposure air noise pollution); (ii) restoring capacities attention restoration, stress reduction); (iii) building promoting physical activity, transcendent experiences); (iv) causing dangerous wildlife, zoonotic diseases, allergens). We discuss test components biodiversity-health available analytical approaches existing datasets. world accelerating declines biodiversity, profound land-use change, an increase non-communicable diseases globally, greater these reinforce conservation strategy for promotion people nature. conclude by identifying avenues recommendations policy practice foster biodiversity-focused public actions.

Research into the potential health and well-being benefits from exposure to green spaces such as parks woodlands has led development of several frameworks linking different strands evidence. The current paper builds on these provide a model how aquatic environments, or blue rivers, lakes coast, in particular, may benefit well-being. Although share many commonalities, there are also important differences. Given breadth research, spanning multiple disciplines research methodologies, narrative review approach was adopted which aimed highlight key issues processes rather than definitive balance evidence summary. Novel aspects our framework included inclusion outcomes that only indirectly good for through being environment, addition nature connectedness both trait state, feedback loops where actions/interventions increase implemented. Limitations areas future work, including need integrate with risks, discussed.
