The occurrence of emerging contaminants (ECs) such as pharmaceuticals, personal care products (PPCPs) and pesticides in the aquatic environment has raised serious concerns about their adverse effects on species humans. Because toxicity bioactive nature, PPCPs have more potential to impair water systems than any other contaminants, causing several effects, including antibiotic resistance, reproductive impairment, biomagnification, bioaccumulation, etc. Over 35 publications from Africa reported fate African with little or no data remediation control. As a result, adequate intervention strategies are needed for regulating persistence systems.

In this historical context, the Mediterranean Sea faces an increasing threat from emerging pollutants such as pharmaceuticals, personal care products, heavy metals, pesticides and microplastics, which pose a serious risk to environment human health. regard, aquatic invertebrates fish are particularly vulnerable toxic effects of these pollutants, several species have been identified bio-indicators for their detection. Among these, bivalve molluscs elasmobranchs now widely used accurately assess contaminants. The study focuses on catshark Scyliorhinus canicular mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis. first one is useful indicator localised contamination levels due its exposure that accumulate seabed. Moreover, it has high trophic position plays important role in ecosystem. mollusc galloprovincialis, other hand, being filter-feeding organism, can acquire bioaccumulate foreign particles present environment. Additionally, because also commercial interest, direct impact conclusion, presence issue requires immediate attention. Bivalve two examples must be precisely determine marine ecosystem

Abstract The application of homogeneous catalysts in water remediation is limited by their excessive chemical and energy input, weak regenerability, potential leaching. Heterogeneous catalytic membranes (CMs) offer a new approach to facilitate efficient, selective, continuous pollutant degradation. Thus, integrating filtration with heterogeneous advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) can promote thermodynamic kinetic mass transfers spatially confined intrapores diffusion‐reaction processes. Despite the remarkable advantages CMs, engineering practically restricted due fuzzy design criteria for specific applications. Herein, recent advances CMs are critically reviewed flow tempospatially proposed. Further, state‐of‐the‐art CM materials mechanisms reviewed, after which tempospatial confinement comprising nanoconfinement effect, interface transfer emphasized, thus clarifying roles construction performance optimization CMs. Additionally, fabrication methods based on pore sizes summarized an overview evaluations presented. Finally, future directions research treatment,

Triclosan (TCS) and triclocarban (TCC) are widely used as bactericides in personal-care products. They frequently found environmental water have the potential to cause a number of human health problems. In this study, we investigated adsorption magnetic extraction for efficient removal TCS TCC from serum samples by core-shell structured covalent organic framework nanocomposites (Fe3O4@COFs). The as-prepared Fe3O4@COFs was fabricated on Fe3O4 nanoparticles situ growth strategy at room temperature via condensation reaction 1,3,5-tris(4-aminophenyl) benzene (TAPB) terephthaldicarbox-aldehyde (TPA) presence dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). whole process monitored ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) analysis with high sensitivity. behaviors showed capacity fast adsorption. Furthermore, through Langmuir Freundlich isotherms multilayer interactions space embedding effect, van der Waals forces, ring π-π stacking low concentration range monolayer strong between interface or range. Results indicated that onto can be better represented pseudo-second-order model. Good efficiencies (82.3∼95.4%) recoveries (92.9∼109.5%) fetal bovine (FBS) reusability least 10 times were achieved. exhibited stability excellent biological samples. results presented here thus reveal exceptional COFs high-efficient remediation.
