Abstract
Globally,
phytoplankton
abundance
is
increasing
in
lakes
as
a
result
of
climate
change
and
land‐use
change.
The
relative
importance
drivers
has
been
examined
primarily
for
mesotrophic
eutrophic
lakes.
However,
oligotrophic
show
different
sensitivity
to
than
lakes,
necessitating
further
exploration
the
contribution

abundance.
Here,
we
investigated

temperature

chlorophyll‐
concentration
was
positively
associated
temperature,
whereas
annual
maximum
previous

years
external
phosphorus
load.
Scenario
testing
demonstrated
2°C
increase
significantly
concentration,
but
not
concentration.
For
both
doubling
loads
total
nitrogen
at
same
time,
or
alone,
resulted
significant
increase.
This
study
highlights
aligning
lake
measurements
ecosystem
metrics
interest,
may
be
more
uniquely
sensitive
that
typical
due
warming
alone.

Abstract.
Long-term
effects
of
climate
change
on
lakes
globally
will
include
a
substantial
modification
in
the
thermal
regime
and
oxygen
solubility
lakes,
resulting
alteration
ecosystem
processes,
habitats,
concentrations
critical
substances.
Recent
efforts
have
led
to
development
long-term
model
projections
lake
regimes
solubility.
However,
such
are
hardly
ever
confronted
with
observations
extending
over
multiple
decades.
Furthermore,
global-scale
forcing
parameters
models
present
several
limitations,
as
need
significant
downscaling.
In
this
study,
were
analyzed
four
largest
French
peri-alpine
1850–2100.

tested
one-dimensional
(1D)
models'
robustness
for
variations

Model
ensembles
have
several
benefits
compared
to
single-model
applications
but
are
not
frequently
used
within
the
lake
modelling
community.
Setting
up
and
running
multiple
models
can
be
challenging
time
consuming,
despite
many
similarities
between
existing
(forcing
data,
hypsograph,
etc.).
Here
we
present
an
R
package,
LakeEnsemblR,
that
facilitates
of
five
different
vertical
one-dimensional
hydrodynamic
(FLake,
GLM,
GOTM,
Simstrat,
MyLake).
The
package
requires
input
in
a
standardised
format
single
configuration
file.
LakeEnsemblR
formats
these
files
required
by
each
model,
provides
functions
run
calibrate
models.
outputs
compiled
into
file,
post-processing
operations
supported.
LakeEnsemblR's
workflow
standardisation
simplify
model
benchmarking
uncertainty
quantification,
improve
collaborations
scientists.
We
showcase
successful
application
for
two
lakes.
