Investigating the coordinated development between social economy and water environmental quality is an important basis for promoting protection of ecological environment. In this paper, a comprehensive index system was built to estimate coupling coordination subsystems in Nansi Lake catchment, China. Improved degree (CCD) model, scissors difference projection pursuit model based on genetic algorithm were developed investigate spatiotemporal distribution dynamic evolution mechanism economy–water environment system. Results showed that: (1) Comprehensive level two overall uptrend, catchment improved gradually with socio-economic development. (2) The status had transformed from moderately unbalanced (CCD 0.265 2001) favorably balanced 0.667 2017). relatively low CCD Heze generated biggest restriction subsystems, compared Zaozhuang Jining. (3) speed downward trend, scissor controlled effectively. And tended Overall, analysis paper may provide new approach empirical research environment–economy nexus. Abstract In an environment with economic policy uncertainty, the policies of energy efficiency are probably compromised due to weak regulation measures. Abstract The income and pollution relationship is widely debated in the literature, but alone cannot control emissions, that requires environmental regulation measures. Even though weak regulations may offset market failures caused by negative externality of pollution, investigation their role prime importance. To better understand carbon emissions mitigation, this study takes a step to offers new perspective on reduction for Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa. end, employs panel data econometric tools spanning from 1995 2016. Besides, conducts fully modified ordinary least squares estimator get country‐wise results. Empirical results confirm positive emission current measures are successful achieving targets sample countries. Environmental help establishing inverted U‐shaped between pollution. Climate change mitigation BRICS (Brazil, Africa) countries not associated with economic development only driven effective as well.
