Including legumes in the cereal cropping could improve crop yield and uptake of nitrogen (N) phosphorus (P) subsequent cereals. The effects legume-cereal rotations on soil microbial community have been studied recent years, impact functional genes especially involved P cycling is raising great concerns. metagenomic approach was used to investigate impacts rotation managements soybean-wheat (SW) maize-wheat (MW) lasting 2 7years communities transformation a field experiment. Results indicated that SW increased relative abundances Firmicutes Bacteroidetes, reduced Actinobacteria, Verrucomicrobia, Chloroflexi compared MW rotation. gcd, phoR, phoD, ppx predominated both rotations. Genes ppa, ugpABCE showed higher than rotation, whereas gadAC pstS less abundances. Proteobacteria, Acidobacteria, Gemmatimonadetes played predominant roles cycling. Our study provides novel insight into P, which requires strategy help understand mechanism improving nutrient productivity different
