In the context of circular economy and global shortage phosphorus (P) fertilizer production, it is crucial to effectively recover P during treatment disposal sewage sludge (SS). Although thermal SS has been widely applied, a targeted reclamation route not yet well established. This study comprehensively investigated compared physicochemical properties solid residues (hydrochar (HC), biochar (BC), ash (SSA), hydrochar (HCA), (BCA)) after application three typical techniques (i.e., hydrothermal carbonization (180‒240 °C), pyrolysis (400‒600 °C) combustion (850 ℃). speciation transformation processes were extensively explored followed by rational proposal effective routes.
