Nitrogen cycle, a most important elemental cycle in earth ecosystem, is carried out by three major microbial processes including nitrogen fixation, nitrification and denitrification. Nitrification particularly agricultural soil ecosystems because it involved loss, groundwater pollution leaching, greenhouse gas nitrous oxide emission. Recent genomic, metagenomic physiological analysis of nitrifying microorganisms gives new insights into their ecology functions soils. In the last decade, there have been number findings regarding nitrification. The discovery archaea complete bacteria has overturned conventional theory that driven ammonia-oxidizing nitrite-oxidizing bacteria.
