With the increasing use of animal and plant proteins, pollution due to nitrogen sources is attracting attention. In particular, amount nitrogen-containing sewage discharged into environment has increased significantly, causing eutrophication water bodies environmental degradation quality. Traditionally, nitrifying bacteria perform ammonia nitrification under aerobic conditions, while denitrifying nitrate/nitrite denitrification anaerobic conditions. However, heterotrophic microorganisms (HNADs) same conditions using an organic carbon source, which a much simpler more efficient process. this review, distribution evolutionary relationships novel HNADs strains are presented, influencing factors, metabolic pathways, key enzymes, practical applications reviewed.

Abstract Purpose Microbial resources are abundant in fermented grains of the Chinese Fen-flavor Baijiu , which is closely related to quality . The purpose this study was investigate microbial community structure and function Daqu grains. Methods We systematically compared two technical approaches, amplicon sequencing, metagenomic analyze communities during fermentation. Result results showed that lactic acid bacteria (LAB) yeasts were main microorganisms fermentation process. Firmicutes ( Lactobacillus Pediococcus Weissella ) dominant bacteria, Ascomycota Issatchenkia or Pichia fungus Moreover, kudriavzevii Lichtheimia ramosa Companilactobacillus paralimentarius species at initial stage by sequencing. Latilactobacillus curvatus Loigolactobacillus coryniformis subsp. Lentilactobacillus parabuchneri became middle acetotolerans final Spearman correlation analysis LAB inhibited growth yeasts.
