Since eutrophication occurred frequently in the backwater zone of tributaries Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) during hydrological management dam, biogeochemical processes dissolved nitrogen and driving factors are pressed for clarity. In this study, concentration species stratified water sampling from a typical tributary TGR was determined, stable isotopes were used to quantify influence on dynamics nitrogen. Influenced by heavy rainfall before sampling, average value total (TDN) river 2.23 ± 0.48 mg/L, 1.6 times seasonal average. Probably due assimilation denitrification, NO3––N extremely low water. The organic (DON, 0.84–2.87 mg/L) dominated composition species. Combined with H–O optimized mathematical models, surface middle recharged mainstream within 15 km estuary, providing up 93.5% DON concentration, while about 77.3% bottom may be contributed sediment release. abnormally increased proportion TDN increase turnover pressure internal circulation risk algal bloom. For another perspective, NH4+–N had high potential health risks local residents according estimate hazard quotient. Overall, study reveals that controlled dam have an important impact cycle, long-term monitoring damming is required.
