As emerging pollutants, pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs) have received extensive attention due to their high detection frequency (with concentrations ranging from ng/L μg/L) potential risk aqueous environments human health. Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) are effective techniques for the removal of PPCPs water environments. In AOPs, different types free radicals (HO·, SO4·−, O2·−, etc.) generated decompose into non-toxic small-molecule compounds, finally leading decomposition PPCPs. This review systematically summarizes features various AOPs by radicals. The operation conditions comprehensive performance summarized, reaction mechanisms further revealed. will provide a quick understanding later researchers.
